Study on the function and regulation mechanism of Rbohs gene in plants

Abstract: The functions of plant Rbohs in mediating ROS to regulate plant growth and development and stress response were summarized. The main cis-acting elements on the promoter of plant Rbohs gene and the active regulatory molecules of RBOHs protein were introduced. The regulation of Rbohs gene expression by cis-acting elements such as stress response elements, hormone response elements and growth and development-related elements on the promoter of Rbohs gene in plants, as well as the regulation of RBOHs protein activity by Ca2+, protein kinase, Rac/Rop protein, extracellular ATP and ABA in recent years were reviewed. It was concluded that Rbohs gene and RBOHs protein jointly regulated the level of ROS in plants. ROS, as a signal molecule, participated in the crosstalk of hormone signal transduction pathways such as ABA, auxin, ethylene, JA and SA in plants, forming a complex and variable signal transduction pathway, in order to provide a basis for further research on the role of Rbohs in plant stress response and growth and development regulation.
