     In order to strengthen the construction of ethical standards, serious academic discipline, pay attention to the reputation of academic journals, standardize the paper submission, review and editing process, and eliminate academic misconduct, the ethics of authors, reviewers and editors of 《Journal of Biology》are formulated. It is based on the copyright law of the People's Republic of China, the relevant provisions of Committee on Publication Ethics and the actual situation of the journal.

     

    (1) publishing ethics of the author

    The author is obliged to state that the paper is the original research content (except for the review) and does not contain any falsification, deception or plagiarism. This paper does not involve state secrets or any infringement of intellectual property rights. Ensure that there are no multiple submission of one draft, and that the content has not been published in any other publication or media in any other language. Guarantee that before receiving the rejection notice from the editorial department, no other publications will be submitted.

    Citation sources are clearly identified and listed in bibliography. Units and individuals who have provided scientific funding and advice for this article are listed in the acknowledgements. Respect the revision opinions of reviewers and editors. After the submission is published, the copyright of the paper is granted to the editorial department of the《Journal of Biology》.The author must prohibit the following academic misconduct:

    1. Multiple submission of one draft:

    The author is obliged to ensure the originality of the submitted paper. The submitted paper should be original and not submitted to other journals at the same time. If the paper has been published in different forms (including different languages), or if a similar paper has been published and translated, the author should explain when submitting the paper.

    2. Plagiarism:

    Refers to the author's deliberate use of others' works without the consent of the original author, without reference or acknowledgement. Plagiarism can take the form of direct reposting and rewriting of other people's work, involving data, text, statements, paragraphs and ideas and concepts.

    3. Cooperation/author status:

    Contributors must obtain the consent of their co-authors before submitting their work.

    4. Originality:

    Authors should not re-submit published data as source material, except when the author explicitly informs and appropriately quotes it.

    5. Research fraud:

    The index data or conclusion is not obtained by experiment or research, but falsified by the author.

     

    (2) publishing ethics of peer review experts

    To ensure the scientific and accurate hearing of manuscripts, and to make an objective and fair evaluation; The content of the review shall be kept strictly confidential and the author's research results shall be respected; Avoid the existence of interest relations of the manuscript.

    (1) make use of my professional knowledge and ability to review the innovation, scientificity and practicability of manuscripts. The fair evaluation is put forward on whether the research method is appropriate, the scientific research design is reasonable, the results and conclusions are accurate, or there are leaks. In order to help the author improve the quality of the paper, detailed suggestions on the modification of the existing problems are put forward.

    (2) The reviewer only evaluates the manuscript academically and does not make any personal evaluation or attack. The acceptance of contributions is not affected by the contributor's race, gender, religion, belief, status, qualifications and authority. Make your point clear with sufficient evidence and facts.

    (3)Fill in the review comments on time and give the feedback to the editorial department within the stipulated time. If not completed on time, please explain the situation and return the manuscript.

    (4) The manuscript examined shall be kept strictly confidential, and shall not be circulated or discussed to others. Data, opinions and conclusions of the manuscript reviewed shall not be used or published. If the manuscript is to be used, the consent of the author shall be obtained.

    (5) The reports and arguments explicitly cited in the preliminary research of the paper must clearly indicate the source. The reviewer shall confirm the published work which has not been quoted by the author; Explain to the author the similarity or repeatability between the submitted papers and published papers and data according to the cognitive category of their own knowledge.

    (6) All comments and information must be kept confidential and not used for personal use. Reviewers shall not review articles with conflicting interests arising from competition or cooperation with authors, units or enterprises.

     

    (3) publishing ethics of editors

    To strictly implement the relevant laws and regulations of the state and abide by the ethics and standards of academic publishing; Handle all contributions in a timely and fair manner, respect the author's research results, and respect the opinions of reviewers; Keep confidential the information of authors and reviewers.

    (1) Editors should be responsible for all editing links of the journal, including continuously promoting the development of the journal and ensuring the high-quality and timely publication of manuscripts; Editors should abide by the relevant policies of the editorial board and the relevant laws and regulations to select articles.

    (2) Maintain the authenticity of the manuscript review records, and have the obligation to keep confidential the materials of the reviewing process and revising manuscripts; Editors and editorial staff shall not disclose any information about the  paper to others, except corresponding authors, reviewers and members of the editorial committee.

    (3) Fair selection of manuscripts and acceptance or rejection of articles can only be based on the scientific nature, innovation, practicality of the paper and whether it conforms to the purpose and scope of the journal.

    (4) The editor should communicate with the author in time and obtain the author's consent when the article is greatly modified.

    (5) Put an end to all commercial needs and benefit exchanges that undermine academic ethics.

    (6) The editors shall have the obligation to investigate and communicate academic misconduct, and shall take effective measures to deal with the academic ethics. If necessary, it shall issue a public correction, clarification, withdrawal or apology in a timely manner; Editors are obliged to hold authors and reviewers accountable for their improper behaviors;

    (7) Editors shall ensure that the information submitted by authors shall not be used for their own research or for other people's research. Ensure the identity of reviewers and other relevant staff in the editorial department is protected during blind review process.

    (8) Encourage academic controversyacademic contention and have the obligation to respond to different opinions of reviewers.

    (9) The editor shall ensure that the review of the paper is fair and reasonable. In case of any interest conflict with the author, unit or enterprise concerned, the editor shall propose to replace the reviewer, other members of the editorial committee shall be responsible for the review of the paper.
