Abstract: For all sexually propagating eukaryotes, meiosis is a specialized type of cell division responsible for accurate segregation of genetic information into gametes. Synapsis is an important part in meiosis and coordinate the paring and recombination of homologous chromosome. Synaptonemal complex is conversed meiosis-specific ultrastruture which is might be involved in the normal progress of meiosis. In this review, we summaried the genes identification in synapsis and the component of synaptonemal complex for future study in plants.
