Abstract: A textbook is the information carrier of teachers′ teaching and students′ learning, and it is the main performance of teaching content, as well as being the important foundation for further teaching reform and guaranteeing the teaching quality. As an excellent textbook, its content should be scientific, rigorous, and normative. However, people generally did not pay enough attentions to the citing and writing the scientific names of species in genetics textbooks, which brings many confusions and troubles to both teachers′ teaching and students′ learning. The common problems in genetics textbooks about citing and writing the scientific names of species were summarized and revised in this paper, which is expected to provide certain reference to the authors of genetics textbooks.
