Abstract: Drosophila, as a model organism, has made a valuable contribution to the research in neuroscience, and because of its powerful gene, it has been widely used as models of neurodegenerative diseases. The Drosophila brain has become increasingly useful for studies of neuronal wiring and morphogenesis and the model of learning and memory. Here, we described a basic method for dissection and immunofluorescence staining of the adult Drosophila whole brain. A part of the adult drosophila brain structure can be seen after dissection under confocal microscopy, which provides an ideal drosophila brain anatomical method. Such high-resolution anatomical study of the brain is also important in characterizing the organization of neural circuits using genetic tools such as GAL4 enhancer trap lines, as Drosophila has been intensively used for studying the neural basis of behavior.
