Abstract: In our study, we investigated the use of auxin transport mutants ofArabidopsis thalianaas a model for teaching cell biology. Through discussion-based teaching methods, phenotypic observation and analysis, and subcellular localization experiments, students can gain a deep understanding of the relationship between membrane protein structure and their functions, emphasizing the significance of transmembrane transport in plant growth and development. In addition to fostering students’ interest, this course promotes a comprehensive understanding and application of knowledge in cell biology and related fields, thereby enhancing critical thinking and scientific research skills. Taken together, our teaching approach cultivates innovative individuals capable of thriving in interdisciplinary collaborations.
