Abstract: Ploidy identification is one of the preconditions for kiwifruit breeding. In this study, 50 kiwifruit germplasms were collected from Guilin, Guangxi Province, and their ploidy was identified using flow cytometry. Among them, the ploidy of 16 germplasms was identified for the first time, and the relationship between ploidy and fruit main features was analyzed. The results showed that 19 diploid, 13 tetraploid and 18 hexaploid were identified from the 50 species and varieties, the majority of Actinidia Chinensis were diploids and tetraploids, with red or yellow-fleshed and smooth or short trichomes on the fruit surface, while that of A.deliciosa was hexaploidy, with generally green-fleshed and long velutinous. The fruit size of A.deliciosa was larger than that of A. chinensis totally. Wild species were mostly diploids, accompanied with green-fleshed and smooth or less trichomes. This study enriched the ploidy database, and provided references for breeding and production of kiwifruit.
