Abstract: Aiming to speed up the construction of ecological specialty under the background of “double first-class”, the teaching idea, arrangement and assessment of ecology field practice were discussed in this paper, on a basis of the research and teaching base of ecology and the combination of related teaching experience. The ecology research-oriented field practice effectively integrated research with practical teaching, and meanwhile emphasized ecological research methods, data analysis, presentation and writing skills. The results indicated that field practice aroused the learning interest of students who were majored in ecology, expanded their ability of acquiring and applying ecological theories and research methods, and improved their enthusiasm to explore and participate in the study. Consequently, it would lay a foundation for cultivating innovative, research-oriented and application-oriented talents in ecology.
