Abstract:

Acoustic communication play a vital role regulating the survival and reproduction in frogs. There were many environment noise including abiotic and biotic noise in their habitat, which would mask their acoustical signal and make the signal detection and recognition more difficulty. For the communication to be effective, senders must emit signals that are conspicuous and distinct from other background noise. Usually, frogs in noise habitat would use different strategies to avoid masking and evolved a certain adaptive mechanism to avoid masking by sounds in the ambience, which include long-term adaptation and short-term adaptation. The current article will focus on the strategies of acoustical communication of frogs in noise ambient and the results will benefit to the understanding for readers how frogs adapt the noisy environment and communicate effectively.
