Abstract: This paper systematically explored the entire process of constructing, applying, evaluating, and improving a teaching case database for the graduate course of biochemical separation engineering, with the aim of driving innovation and development of graduate education and teaching models through the establishment of such a case database. Initially, it clarified the purpose of establishing the case database, and elaborated on the critical steps from construction to screening of the case database, ensuring that the selected cases were both representative and of high practical value. Subsequently, it introduced the basic information of the current case database, along with its usage and management model, ensuring its efficient use in teaching practice. Regarding the application of the case database, it analyzed its positive impacts on student learning outcomes, teaching interaction patterns and other aspects, while revealing the effectiveness and potential of case-based teaching through an effectiveness evaluation. Finally, addressing the problems and challenges encountered during the implementation, we propose targeted improvement strategies and future development directions.
