Abstract: Using 106 recombinant inbred line progeny constructed by Indica rice RH003 and Huachan as experimental materials, correlation analysis and QTL mapping were conducted for five appearance and quality traits including grain length, grain width, length-to-width ratio, chalkiness grain rate and chalkiness degree of rice planted in the different places from Lingshui, Hainan province and Hefei, Anhui province. The results found that the correlation between chalkiness and length-width ratio was the highest and showed an extremely significant negative correlation. The grain width showed a significant positive correlation. Grain length had little correlation with chalkiness. The season grain length and chalkiness in Hefei reached a significant level of negative correlation, while the others did not reach a significant level. A total of 17 QTL were detected by QTL mapping, and 6 QTL loci (qGL2a, qGL2b, qGW2b, qGLW2, qCR4andqCD4) were repeatedly detected in two seasons, and the LOD value and phenotypic contribution rate were higher. There were 4 QTLS for grain type, all locating on the second chromosome, and 1 QTL for chalkiness and chalkiness rate locating on the fourth chromosome with similar locations. This study could provide reference for gene discovery and molecular breeding of appearance varieties.
