Research progress in the structure and function of rotavirus NSP5#br#

Abstract: Rotaviruses (RV) are leading causes of gastrointestinal diseases in infants and young children. The RV genome consists of 11 subunits of double-stranded RNA, encoding six structural proteins (VP1, VP2, VP3, VP4, VP6, VP7) and six non-structural proteins (NSP1, NSP2, NSP3, NSP4, NSP5, NSP6), where the 11th gene fragment encodes the nonstructural protein NSP5. NSP5 protein is large, in the form of dimer which in the virus-infected cells, and is a highly phosphorylated protein, with rotavirus other non-structural protein or structural protein interaction, with RNA binding activity, in the virus replication process, mainly through a series of interactions with NSP2 to play a function. In recent years, a large number of non-structural proteins of rotavirus have been studied, mainly in its structure, expression, function and immunological properties, mthis study; the progress the structure and function of rotavirus NSP5 at home and abroad was reviewed.
