Abstract: Larix potaninii var. chinensis is one of the national second-class protected plants. As an alpine species in the Qinling Mountains, it plays an important role in soil and water conservation and solid rock. Due to human disturbance, climate change and other reasons, the distribution area of Larix potaninii var. chinensis gradually reduced, facing endangered. This paper reviewed the community characteristics, population characteristics, reproductive characteristics, genetic characteristics of Larix potaninii var. chinensis, and hoped to provide basic data for further studing on the conservation biology of Larix potaninii var. chinensis.
