Abstract: In order to investigate the effect of warm acclimation on body mass and energy metabolism, parameters like body mass, body temperature, basal metabolic rate(BMR), non-shivering thermogenesis(NST), energy budgets and thermogenic activity of liver in E. miletus were measured. The results showed that warm acclimation increased body mass and body temperature, decreased energy intake and thermogenic activity, as well as decreased state Ⅲ of mitochondrial respiration of liver, but it did not affect state Ⅳ of mitochondrial respiration of liver. All of the results indicated that E. miletus under warm acclimation increased body mass and body temperature, reduced energy intake and heat production capacity as to adapt to high temperature stress.
