Abstract:  The 30-year progressive history of microalgal industry in China covering every aspects of the bioresource exploitation and utilization including the change of cultivation modes, equipment innovation, cell cycle regulation, growth optimization, contamination and pollution control, germplasm screening, and industrial system construction as well as the practitioner team training was brief reviewed. Meanwhile, the crucial problems encountered the microalgal mass cultivation, some key techniques and the possible solving strategies were then discussed. Further developing trend of Chinese microalgal industry was also prospected, using the new developed Haematococcus cultivation model.
