Abstract: Graphene is a six-angle planar structure formed from a SP2 orbital of carbon atoms and has only one carbon atom thickness. Since the first single-layer graphene was obtained in 2004, this material has attracted much attention in electronics, mechanics, optics, astronautics, biomedicine and many other fields due to its unique structure and special properties, and thus shows great application prospect. In this review, we mainly introduces the antimicrobial property and mechanism of graphene and graphene oxide derivatives, and the current research progress on sterilization and mechanisms of graphene-based composite materials.
