Abstract: Research on solenoid proteins in human health and protein engineering are growing. Identification of the solenoid domain helps to infer protein function and mechanism, to study protein origin and evolution, and to understand the protein-protein interactions. Currently, researchers have developed solenoid domain recognition approaches from both sequence and structural features, which are summarized in this paper.
