Research progress in butterfly as indicators for habitat change

Abstract:

Butterfly and plants are interdependent and cooperative coevolution, its sensitivity to the unique habitat and convenience of habitat instructions can be used to assess the rapidly change of habitat quality or habitat fragmentation. Attention and clear butterfly as indicator for the habitat are vital to maintaining the stability of ecological system and the sustainable development. Also, butterfly is the sensitive indicator for monitoring short-term ecological restoration. Selecting on of appropriate butterfly taxa to reflect ecological restoration process, monitor and warn the influence of land use on the change butterfly community is in favour of screening and developing suitable ecological restoration measures, simultaneously, providing a new perspective for ecological restoration assessment.
