Abstract:

Eight strains of endophytic fungi were isolated from the leaf and root of Aloeveral.var.chinesis(haw.), in which, five from the leaf and three from the root. The antimicrobial activity from endophytic fungi was investigated by using the agar diffusion method and the cylinder plate method with Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Saccharomyces cerevisiae as indicator microorganisms. The results showed that two of endophytic fungi which one was isolated from the leaf and the other from root had inhibitory activities to Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and the endophytic fungi from leaf showed antimicrobial activity to Saccharomyces cerevisiae. They were classified as Aspergillus Niger by their morphological features.
