Research progress of gamma-aminobutyric acid regulating female reproduction

摘要: γ-氨基丁酸(gamma-aminobutyric acid,GABA)是一种天然存在的非蛋白质氨基酸,以游离态广泛分布于神经组织和外周组织,具有健脑益智、镇痛、催眠等多种生理功能。研究表明GABA还通过下丘脑-垂体-卵巢轴来影响生殖功能。综述了GABA在生殖内分泌、卵母细胞发育和初情期等方面的作用,为进一步研究GABA对雌性生殖的影响提供依据。

Abstract: Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is a free-state, non-protein amino acid that is widely distributed in nervous tissues and peripheral tissues. It has various physiological functions such as brain-enhancement, analgesia, and hypnosis. Studies have shown that GABA also affects the reproductive function through the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis in female animal. The paper reviewed the role of GABA in reproductive endocrine, oocyte development and puberty, which provides a basis for further studying its effect on reproduction of female animal.
