Diagram reading-based evaluation of biology professional abilities

摘要: 提出一种基于读图的问答题形式,通过解读理论概念、实验数据、工程策略等内容的相关图示,进行图示生物学过程的阐释、理论问题的解答或工程解决方案的设计,由此实现对信息提取、逻辑思维和理论应用3种生物学专业关键能力的全面考查。以代表性案例分析读图型问答题的特点与优势,并提出该题型的设计原则。实施效果表明该题型显著有别于传统的知识记忆型考题,可以有效淘汰掉“记忆型”考生,具备优异的成绩区分度和选拔精准度。读图型问答题为真实专业能力的评估提供了新手段,有助于推动生物学专业人才选拔方法的升级优化,为生物学高端教育质量提供保障。

Abstract: This paper proposes a type of test question based on diagram interpretation. By interpreting relevant diagrams of theoretical concepts, experimental data, engineering strategies, etc., the biological process could be explained, theoretical questions could be answered, and engineering solutions could be designed, thus realizing a comprehensive examination of the three key abilities of biology majors such as information extraction, logical thinking and theoretical application. This paper analyzed the characteristics and advantages of the diagram-reading questions with representative cases, and the design principles of such question were proposed. Implementation of the diagram-reading questions showed that such question was significantly different from the traditional memory-based questions, which could effectively eliminate the "memory type" candidates, exhibit excellent score distinction and selection accuracy.Such diagram-reading question provided a novel method for the evaluation of actual professional ability. It promoted the upgrading and optimization of the selection method of biological professionals, and guarantees the quality of higher biology education.
