“Seed” cells: toward crops from model plants——the international online symposium on plant stem cells and regeneration

摘要: 2022年5月2日至3日,由华中农业大学主办的第一届植物干细胞与再生国际研讨会在线上举行。干细胞与再生是科学界最具挑战性的前沿问题之一,植物干细胞作为“种子”细胞的一种,对无性繁殖这一种业发展的关键技术有着重要的科学意义。来自7个国家的14位科学家报告了多种模式植物与作物中干细胞与再生领域的最新研究进展。会议体现了基础科学与应用科学的相互促进,在基础科学领域探索植物干细胞状态维持与再生的分子调控机制与信号通路,为植物干细胞再生的应用提供理论支持;在应用科学领域,依据已有理论,开发易转化、易嫁接、保存时间久的种质资源,为基础研究提供动力。

Abstract: From May 2nd to May 3rd, 2022, the first international online symposium on plant stem cells and regeneration was held by Huazhong Agricultural University. Stem cells and regeneration are one of the most challenging frontier issues in science. As a kind of “seed” cells, plant stem cells have important scientific significance for solving asexual reproduction, a key technology for the development of seed industry. Fourteen scientists from seven countries reported the latest research progress in the field of stem cells and regeneration in a variety of model plants and crops. The meeting reflected the promotion of basic science and applied science. In the field of basic science, the molecular regulation mechanism and signaling pathway of plant stem cell maintenance and regeneration were explored, and the theoretical support for the application of plant stem cell regeneration was provided.In the field of applied science, germplasm resources are easy to transform, graft and preserve for a long time developed to provide impetus for basic research.
