摘要: 自由度是生物统计学中一个非常重要的概念,但在许多教材中,并没有对该概念给出明确的定义或足够的解释。因此,在课堂教学中,对于学生来说,自由度是一个非常抽象、难以理解的概念;对于老师来说,亦是难以形象地阐述。况且,在有关教材中,通常是在计算样本方差的时候首次引入自由度的概念,若在此时便对该概念给予更为生动的表达,定能为学生后续的学习奠定坚实的基础。利用Excel软件中的VBA编程及其图表制作功能,对随机抽样过程进行模拟,可以形象地展示自由度的内涵,激发学生的学习兴趣,取得良好的教学效果。

Abstract: Although the degrees of freedom concept is very important in biostatistics, in many textbooks, there are no clear definitions or adequate explanations of the concept. Consequently, the degrees of freedom concept is too abstract to be grasped by students, as well as being difficult to be explained by teachers. Moreover, the concept is often introduced firstly into biostatistics textbooks at calculating the sample variance. If the concept is expressed more vividly at this time, it will bring students a solid foundation for the follow-up study. In this paper, the VBA programming and graphics function of Excel software are used to simulate the process of random sampling, which can show the connotation of degrees of freedom more vividly and stimulate students′ interests in learning, so as to achieve a good teaching effect.
